FRIDAY, 8/30 -> We’re excited to welcome our friends, Denver MC extraordinaire Whygee & DJ Brik-A-Brak, back to The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez for a guest set this weekend.  They always tear it down and between them and the regular fun crowd we have coming through, it’s gonna be another top notch night of hip hop and everything else great at the award-winning Meadowlark.  Word is Whygee’s been heavy in the studio lately, recording new material and chances are you might hear some if you swing by.  9pm / No cover untl 11pm / Only $5 after / 21+.

Denver, meet Whygee.  In fact, if you’ve been paying attention to #COhiphop scene at all over the last few years you should already know him from such acclaimed projects as his recent collab with Denver musical mastermind Q-Knox, I Need $, CMJ chart favorite Suicide Watch (w/Kid Hum, B Money & Quiz fka Sunkenstate), Dispensary Music (w/King F.O.E.) and Hype Killz, his mixtape collaboration with The Solution’s own Sounds Supreme.  Just in time for Summer, Whygee’s dropping Hype Killz 2012 aka HK2012 and he’s doing it at The Solution Showcase #5.  This time around he’s not only linking with Sounds Supreme again but also enlisting his show DJ, Brik-A-Brak, and DJ Ear Attent to up the ante for HK2012.  The tape features production from CO beat heavyweights, Gyp Da Hip and Big J Beats (both former guest at The Solution Showcase), as well as a few other surprises.

What’s up with the Solution you ask? Well here’s a quick update…

As you hopefully already know, the Solution has parted ways with 3014 (after a series of bounced checks while the “owner” was in Mexico…SMH…We got our cash and bounced).  We moved the party to Shag last week and filled up the spot for #FuckFOEFriday (check out the pics on our facebook page), but the move to Shag was a one off relocation for our party with King F.O.E. and PopularLemonade.com and we’re still trying to decide where the Solution will make our new weekly home.

With that said, we’re going to take the next two Fridays (2/25 & 3/4) off to focus on the move and prepare for the Ahead of the Class Tour, which happens to feature the first Solution related events outside of Denver (we see you Boulder, Breckenridge & Colorado Springs).  So anyways, please bear with us for the next two weeks, make sure you put Friday, 3/11 in your calendar for the Solution’s 5th Annual J Dilla Tribute and come check us out at the Marquis Theatre on Saturday, 3/12 for the Ahead of the Class Tour w/Tanya Morgan, TiRon, Whygee, King F.O.E., DJ Low Key, Lazy Eyez and specials guests TBA.
